A permit to plant a street tree is required. This is defined as trees, shrubs, bushes and all other woody vegetation on land lying outside the lot and property lines and inside the curb lines upon the public streets within the city. This includes boulevards. Street trees are not permitted on Riverview or State Streets. A member of the tree board, following a personal inspection of the site, will issue permits. Permits shall be displayed for ten (10) days after planting. Planters must make an Iowa-One Call prior to the inspection to insure that all utility locations are marked prior to inspection.
